HEPA Air Filters and Scrubbers
The quality of the air we breath is of upmost importance, a concentration of particulates and contaminants in the air, if not treated can cause severe health problems and negatively effect those with conditions like allergies and asthma.
Plaster dust from building works, smoke particulate from a fire and contaminants such as mould spores present in the aftermath of a flood can all be effectively treated with our Air Purification Equipment.
What is a HEPA Air Filter?
HEPA, or “High Efficiency Particulate Absorption” filter is an air purification device to filter out 99.97% of particulates down to 0.3 microns. HEPA filter equipped devices must meet a rigorous set of standards due to their extensive use in hospitals, aeroplanes and sterile laboratory environments that demand very clean air.
We are able to deploy several HEPA Filter equipped high powered “Air Scrubbers” that can effectively change the air within a 100 metre square space up to seven times an hour.
Air Scrubber Rental
There are several scenarios where HEPA equipped air scrubbers can be effective.
The Aftermath of a Fire
Fire can change the structure of building materials used in properties, causing material to become brittle and breakdown. Microscopic particles of burnt material will become suspended in the air causing the smoky smell that we associate with fire. Some building materials contain chemicals that should not be inhaled as they can cause health problems. An air scrubber will remove these particles, in the process removing the smoke smell.
Mould Removal
Mould can be effectively removed using a combination of ozone, fungicides and air scrubbing. Air scrubbing becomes particularly effective in areas where the use of ozone may not be preferable due to high concentrations of organic material in the treatment area. Just cleaning mould from surfaces is often not enough because the spores will still be present in the air. The air scrubber will completely remove these, meaning mould will no longer be able to grow and those with mould allergies can breath easy.
Restoration and Renovation Applications
Building works, whether redecorating or restoration following a fire or flood, can create a lot of particulates in the air. Renting an air scrubber during this process will create a safe working environment for all of those involved. Air scrubbers can also be used to generate negative air pressure in the areas they are being used in. Negative air pressure creates a partial vacuum, meaning no air can escape. This stops any particulates and contaminants spreading to other areas of the property.
